Testing For Diabetes
Testing For Diabetes
The testing procedure is quite simple with both these machines. In fact both machines come with multilingual manuals which clearly mention the testing procedure about how to test for diabetes. Though you can test for glucose level at any time but basically there are four different types of methods which doctors suggest.
Most famous test is carried out just before breakfast in the morning. The main aim for this test is to know the glucose level when stomach is totally empty and patient has not consumed anything since at least 7 to 8 hours. After recording this fasting glucose level, patient is asked to take the breakfast. Then after at least 90 minutes of breakfast glucose level is again tested. These two readings give the doctor a complete picture of the range of current glucose levels in the patient which is very important for proper treatment.
Generally the normal range for fasting glucose level is under 100 mg/dl and normal range for after breakfast glucose level is under 200 mg/dl. Anything outside this range means your sugar level is not normal and you require immediate medical attention. Delaying the treatment of diabetes or neglecting to manage and maintain the normal range of glucose can lead to serious health complications. Sometimes they can be so severe that it may also result in the death of the patient. Very high sugar level or very low sugar level in the blood both is extremely dangerous.
People suffering with diabetes should strictly follow diet as suggested by the doctor. They should make sure that they always maintain the permitted glucose level. Fluctuating blood glucose levels is an extreme serious health problem which should be addressed immediately.
